Soleus paced back and forth outside the Godfrey residence, rubbing his clammy hands together. This was the worst situation - minus hanging from the top of Azkaban by his balls - he could have possibly have been in. "Fucking Tiffany." he cursed under his breath, knowing full well that it wasn't really her fault. He was the one who put himself and his family at risk by sleeping with that Auror last week. She was so hot though, he thought distractedly before mentally slapping himself and pausing in his tracks. His mother had overheard Tiffany criticizing him for making such a rookie mistake, and now he was in for it. Bellatrix had punished him in the worst way she could think of for Soleus. She knew his pastimes involved spending a lot of time with various different women. She had already married off Tiffany to Brent Yaxley, and it seemed like the perfect plan. Ashley Godfrey was from a unscathed pureblood lineage, and her father had very recently joined the Death Eater career . He was now betrothed to Ashley Godfrey. Ashley Godfrey, he shook his head, blew his cheeks out and rubbed his palms out on his trouser legs. "I'm Soleus Lestrange for Merlin's sake. Like fuck I'm gonna let this actually happen." He complained quietly as her knocked on the front door. He has no idea what to say or what to expect, but he decided internally to at least try and make this play out to his advantage. Somehow. ~~

Ashley didn't ask for much she was a respectful daughter and she understood her role in her family there were few times when she would ever even remotely argue with her parents, she made one request it was that she could marry someone she loved, her mother said she had until she was 19 but that was until she was offered up to the Lestrange's, you don't say no to such an honor apparently, so here she was sitting in the large spacious and obnoxious living room she grew up in waiting for her... financee. taking deep breaths to keep from crying like she had been the whole night when she finally was on her own she glanced up as the door was knocked on . Taffy the house elf owned by her parents stumbled to the door and opened it quickly "Soleus Lestrange Madame Godfrey and her husband have been expecting you sir" she bowed her head in respect allowing the cloaked man to pass her. Ashley instantly stood up and flattened the dress she wore that her mother picked out her blonde hair flowing down in soft curls down her back "Hello Soleus" Ashley spoke softly

Soleus dipped his head in response to the greeting from the House Elf and walked through the Entrance hall, moistening his bottom lip several times, not really sure how he should act. When he saw Ashley, his immediate response was to smile a friendly smirk the way he always did, but he thought better of it in the current situation and pushed a hand through his hair awkwardly. "Ashley. Hey." He said in his deep baritone, and then he looked around himself, trying to work out what he should do and how he should act. He felt like he had been picked up out of his current life and placed in a weird dream. He pushed his hair back once more and nervously licked his bottom lip. ~~

Ashley watched him and how awkward he was, stepping over to him she half-smiled and leaned in gently fixing his hair for him with a sad but still affectionate smile "here" she stepped away from him bashfully and looked at the ground once again playing with her fingers. "sooooooo this um I just....well it's a bit unexpected" she peeked up at him nervously once again her head cocked to the side.

He dipped his head as she touched him, feeling slightly comforted at her friendliness. He allowed her a small half-smile in thanks. "Yeah, I um-" He paused, making sure that no one else was near, he didn't know how to act around Ashley's parents, and was dreading the meeting. "I guess this probably wasn't what you wanted to hear." He said quietly, a small feeling of guilt clawing at him from inside. This was kind of his fault. Although it may have happened eventually, he tried to justify himself. He batted away the guilt, and shrugged off his cloak, folding it over his arm neatly. "Um, anywhere I should put... this, um.." He trailed off, looking for the house elf or a peg or something.

Ashley shook her head and looked away from him trying to hide her sadness "it's fine" she mumbled softly then cleared her throat and nodded at Taffy who instantly ran up and took the cloak putting it away, "really it's ok my mother is really happy and I know it's what my father wants too" she looked up at him and smiled the best she could "it's an honor really" she nodded then turned away from him headed for the dinning room when her mother chimed out her name.

He instinctively ignored the House elf until he thought about who he was stood with, "Thanks..." He mumbled quietly to the retreating elf, the word feeling wrong and alien to him as it passed his lips. He shook his head unnoticeably to himself, wondering what on Merlin's beard he was doing. He was betrothed not having a personality transplant. he made a mental note never to do that again. He blew out his cheeks again, letting the air roll out slowly.
"Yeah, yeah, well guess I am a Lestrange and all that." He nodded along too, smiling falsely as he took a step behind her, then faltered, unsure whether to follow. He was mad at himself for acting so lamely. Usually everything he did he was sure of. This all felt so... odd.

A tiny little amused grin played on ashleys lips at Soleus' obviously strange behavior she slipped her hand into his making it obvious he was to follow her and pulled her into the dinning room where her mother sat with her father "ohhhh!" The older woman who ashley was completely similar too aside from her mothers brown eyes, she had her fathers blue eyes. "LOOK DARLING" she squeaked out happily fanning at herself then took a deep breath. Ashley winced and flashed Soleus an apologetic smile.

Soleus eyed her hand cautiously and watched as she moved them into the dining room. As unfortunate as the situation felt to him, he was desperate to try and make the most out of it, and as Janelle looked so excited at him appearing through the door frame he couldn't help but let his first reaction be that she must have been pleased at his appearance for her to look so happy. Soleus mentally agreed with her and let out a small amused smirk. It was a start.
As soon as that sliver of his personality reappeared and he instantly felt more relaxed. Plus he found Janelle quite attractive. He crossed the room in a couple of wide strides, and took Janelle's dainty hand in his.
"I'm Soleus Lestrange. Pleased to meet you ma'am." He slipped right into his usual charming creepy personality, and swept down to plant a slow, deliberate kiss on the back of her hand, but didn't linger long enough to offend her husband. He stepped back, and held out a hand to Warner Godfrey. "And you, sir. I believe we've had the pleasure of meeting before." He said calmly and professionally, awaiting him to respond to his handshake.

Ashley smiled warmly in encouragement at Soleus when he spoke and nodded in approval, Janelle smiled charmingly right back and allowed him to kiss her hand "it's a pleasure to meet you Soleus welcome to our home" Warner shook Soleus' hand sternly staring him down "we have" he half-smiled politely then looked to his daughter. Ashley stepped in a little closer to Soleus when he saw the look of excitement on Janelle's face as she saw the pair of them. Her fingers tightened around his when he pulled away from her fathers hand and once again smiled hopefully at him.

Soleus cocked an eyebrow a fraction, a small smile appearing on his lips. He nodded in acceptance and then looked back to Ashley. He was half warmed by her encouraging expression, and for a millisecond he wondered if this might actually work out well for him. She was beautiful. Although the thought quickly passed as he realised that he'd be married. Ugh, like in a commitment. His face returned to a small false smile and he eyed around the large room. "You have a beautiful home." He refrained from adding anything along the lines of comparing it to Lestrange Manor. After all most people had heard how large and old and expensive it was, not how the house elf sometimes missed dusty corners and forgot to clean the high-up windows. Or how it was inhabited by far too many people nowadays, and how people were constantly coming and going. It was more like an Inn than a home. He knew how much pleasing her parents meant to her, and decided to play along for a while to at least make her happy, before he undoubtedly messed up the situation a few weeks down the line. He wasn't going to actually marry the girl, of course. He just hadn't worked out that part of the plan, yet. He could at least impress the family and try not to make Ashley cry anymore than she probably over had due to the situation.

Warner's eye slowly fell onto Soleus again, they almost narrowed but he refrained lets be honest here as much as he'd like to intervene there are few people who would cross a Lestrange on anything Soleus didn't intimidate him but his mother sure as hell did, he turned his focus back to his wife who was mouthing little nit picks at Ashley, standing up straighter as instructed Ashley looked over at Soleus again shyly embarrassed. She was grateful when the house elf stood at he door gaining the attention that was on her at least for a moment "Dinner is being served now" she spoke in a cheery voice then disappeared into the kitchen.
