Zebulon nodded with a chuckle, a smile gracing his features. "Ah, no different then." He responded simply, Hogwarts seemed like such a mess lately, nobody seemed to know what they were doing and had Brent still been there he'd probably of ended up transferring, the only reason he left Loretta within the halls of Hogwarts was because he didn't want to mess up his daughters final grades by moving her to a different school so far into her year.
Brent almost growled under his breath as Tiff touched his knee, his eyes flickering towards her hand and then back up, reminding himself that his parents were sat a mere meter or so away from the two of them.
"Ah, I'm sure" Zebulon answered with a soft chuckle. "Of course, yes, very well, happy to be back home for a few days, nothing beats home comforts when you're away so long." Letitia smiled at her husband as he spoke, clear she appreciated him being home too.
With another pop, the house elf returned with a tray of drinks in hand. Placing it down on the coffee table that separated the two couples before handing them out one by one and disappearing again, undoubtedly to the kitchen to finish cooking dinner.

"I completely agree." She said honestly. Nothing made her feel better than leaving Hogwarts to come home to Lestrange Manor. Her hand lifted away from Brent's leg to take her drink as it was handed to her, with her non-wand hand.
"How many more days did you say you were staying? It's a shame it's not much longer." She had charm - she just hadnt needed to exercise it in a while. She rested her wand hand on Brents leg. Normally she wouldn't - if he chose to grab it or break it, she'd be in a horrible position, but she knew that she was safe for the time being. She gave him a surprisingly sweet - but staged - look, squeezing his knee in mock affection.

Sipping his drink, Brent seemed to keep somewhat quiet, he didn't have anything to offer to the conversation as such, he'd rather just get on with the evening and drown himself in whiskey. His hand moved, patting Tiffs a little heavily before falling back into his lap. It was for his mothers sake, not his, not Tiffs.
"Another three, four at most." Chuckling, the older man nodded his head. "Ah, well work is work, you know, it comes with responsibilities. We all know that." Zebulon gave her an appreciative look before his gaze towards the door, a familiar blonde walking in the room, the click of her heels following her as they hit the wooden floor. "And she graces us with her presence" Zebulon spoke, chuckling softly as he stood up to greet his daughter. "Daddy-" Loretta answered, practically squealing as she walked over to hug her father, loving the time she got to spend with him before stopping as she noticed Tiff sat there. "Hello-" she said, politely, it wasn't as though they didn't know each other but Loretta wasn't exactly the biggest fan of Tiff, not that she judged her, she was just part of a close knit family and out to look out for her older brother.

Spotting Loretta, Tiffs fingers gripped Brent's leg - he was safe from her nails, the way she held him, but her fingertips definitely dug into his thigh immediately. Blushing, she pried herself off & sat up a bit straighter & gave the blonde a light nod, barely mouthing her hello, it was so soft.
She immediately sunk back into her spot a little, literally pressed to Brent's side, though she didnt move to touch him or make contact in any other manner.

Brent smirked at this, realising how uncomfortable his sisters presence seemed to make Tiff. Perfect, he thought inwardly to himself, just when she seemed to be getting ahead of herself on the affection front maybe his sister could bring her back down to a comfortable level for him. "Loretta" Brent spoke in a somewhat friendly manner before standing up abruptly and making his way over to his sister, his hand ruffling her blonde hair almost affectionately. "What took you so long, kid?" He asked, slowly sinking back towards his seat, step by step until he had to sit down again.
"My hair." Responded the blonde, laugh falling from her lips as she picked up an extra glass the elf had left and poured herself a glass of wine. "What's for dinner then?" Loretta asked, innocently tilting her head to rest against her fathers shoulder.
Letitia smiled, "A piece of pork with several vegetables, is that alright for you, Tiffany?"

She'd entirely forgotten about eating. Ugh.
"It sounds amazing, thank you." She gave the woman a polite little smile before turning & forcing a smile in Loretta's direction, then sunk back against Brent's side - not out of affection but just as a result of her stiffness.
When no one but Brent was looking in her general direction she took a huge gulp of her wine, hoping to get a nice tingly, calming buzz. Anything to relax - her lower back began to ache from holding herself to tightly.

"Good, I'm glad" Brents mother answered simply, she'd been unsure what to cook and had simply gone for something somewhat traditional, playing it safe as some would say.
Brent sighed heavily, "excuse us?" He said, standing and reaching - a little too roughly - for Tiffs arm. "Dire need of a cigarette." Forcing a awkward smile at his mother he headed for the front door, respecting his mothers wishes that whenever he wished to smoke he'd at least go outdoors.

Dead set on getting back inside from the cigarette break in one piece, Tiff shakily followed Brent out, getting out of his parents view before pulling her arm away quickly, wanting the option for a quick dodge once outside it needed.
The moment they'd left the doorway she immediately stepped away from him, heading across the porch to put a small bit or distance between the two of them.

Chuckling, he seemed to bask in the fact she seemed somewhat scared of him, her interactions. "Playing a dangerous game in there, y'know that, right?" He growled under his breath, eyebrow raised, his eyes dark with a sense of anger growing inside of him. He lit his cigarette with the tip of his wand before turning his attention towards Tiffany again. "And as stiff as a post, sit any stiffer and you're going to break your back, then what use would you be to me?"

She let his words sink in, then relaxed a little. She knew he wasn't stupid, & he knew that he couldn't leave a mark on her until they left for good at the end of the evening.
"Sweetheart, don't be cold." She reached up & touched his cheek. She'd only done that a few times in the entire time she'd known him. Even though she knew she was safe from any severe punishment right then, the action was still shaky & foreign. "If you want me to be more careful, I will. I know it'd kill you to see me hurt myself." She only just managed to keep the smirk off of her face.

Inhaling smoke deeply, Brent kept his gaze locked on Tiffany, his eyes piercing hers as she spoke, he didn't seem fazed by her touching him although he did use his free hand to grab at her wrist somewhat roughly. "Watch it, little girl." He hissed harshly, warningly. "Don't push me because as much as I'm trying here for the sake of my mother don't think I won't snap your flimsy little neck later." His words seemed so harsh, but he didn't miss a beat, making his threats sound full of potential.

"I love it when you talk dirty." She stage-whispered back sarcastically, yanking her arm away.
"If you plan to sleep in my bed & not in the yard with Illdrasyl, you'll control yourself." She threatened, though it wasn't quite as intimidating as his threats had been. Sleeping in the garden with a chained & muzzled spotted hyena wasn't as scary as having ones throat snapped.

Cocking a brow, he just seemed to get angrier, his eyes seemed to grow darker, lines on his face becoming more defined as he tightened his knuckles. "Sleeping in the yard sounds much more appealing than sleeping anywhere near the likes of you and your scratty little self."

"Perfect, then that's settled. The lawn is all yours, baby." She clapped him softly on the arm & cocked her head to the side challengingly.
The scars on her back were still perfect & probably never going to heal properly from their incident with the perfume bottles & her dresser. Having him in that room with her always made her back tingle like her body was preparing for round two.

"And give up on the fact I have a perfectly comfortable bed in my own home?" He answered in a somewhat bored tone as he leaned back against the wall of his house. Flicking ash away before inhaling another deep breath of his cigarette Brent held the smoke in his lungs for a moment before exhaling heavily. "Watch how you're acting if you want to see it past midnight tonight." And with that, he flicked his cigarette away and walked back into the house, not even waiting for her as he headed back towards the living room, only to be greeted by his family at the door and told to head towards the dining room; dinner was served.
