"Not soon enough." He answered simply, his expression stern as he looked down on her. His arms kept folded for a moment in a kind of battle of wills, proving a point to be much stronger than her physically. Letting his arm drop down after a moment he cocked his brow at her as she touched his arm, his dark mark.
"Why?" He questioned, his expression not changing but rather staying blank. "What difference does it make? When you're raiding you look out for yourself and forget about everyone else in the room."

"In that case, there are no people you don't want to raid with? No one that makes you roll your eyes with you're assigned with them?" she asked, to make her point. It wasn't a matter of who was better, it was a matter of whose company she'd rather be in once they inevitably won out. She absentmindedly scratched at her own dark mark as her eyes lingered on his own, moving as if trying to relieve an itch before gently tracing the outline of it without even having to look. She'd entirely memorized it, by this point.

"I'm not a child." Brent replied calmly as he moved to fold his arms again, his brow raising at her just slightly. "I'm given a task and I do it no matter whom I have to work with." Sighing, the taller male shook his head at Tiffany, just slightly as his arms uncrossed again, his hand reaching to scratch the back of his neck. "And I don't roll my eyes, didn't anyone teach you that they'll get stuck like that? You have to act like an adult, Tiffany, put personal feelings towards people aside."

"You? Don't roll your eyes." she repeated, not even a question, just a disbelieving repitition. She shook her head in slight amusement but didn't let any other sign of it cross her face.
"I get my work done." she reminded him, "No matter who I'm with."
She looked up at him & tried to think of a better way to put it. "Chocolate & fruit are both going to give you energy. Some people just happen to choose fruit." she considered refilling her glass, but she didn't want to feel it too heavily. There was already a soft, tingly warmth that had started in her stomach & was trying to spread throughout her, but she didn't want to drink herself to a buzz. This was nice enough.

Brent drew a short breath as his temper flared just slightly as she back chatted him. "Say no more" he snapped back a little aggressively before seeming to calm down only moments later.
"And that's all that should matter." He spoke in response, simply.
Lifting his eyebrow lazily, the towering male folded his arms once more, tightly this time in order to stop her blank if she attempted to make them drop by his sides again. "Really, Tiffany." He groaned discreetly. "I have no interest in what you're saying no matter how many times you reword it. There is work to be done and we do it. I don't see why it matters whether you're with me or the likes of Carrow."

"You'd compare me to Alecto?" her eyes widened in mock-sadness, her head tilting to the side. If she had nothing else, she had beauty. The last thing working for her. "Don't be so cruel." she decided for another drink, after all, & quickly went about filling herself a fresh glass before offering to refill his with a simple tilt of the bottle & her eyebrows raising in quetion.

"Technically I compared myself to Alecto." He corrected her in a bored monotone as he shook his head, clearly having no patience for her mocking sadness. Setting his jaw as she told him not to be cruel he just looked at her, like she was dumb, his gaze locking on hers as his eyebrows raised again to gather whether or not she was serious in her statement, figuring she had way better reasons to tell him not to be cruel and she chooses an assumption.
"I think you've had enough." Brent said with a harsh tone as his head nodded towards the wine glass.

She upended her glass into his own - possibly trying to give him a bit of a buzz, then refilled her own without his consent.
"Now, now, don't be that way." she gave him a little serious look & then took a sip from her own glass. "Esma's not around to drink it & Soleus prefers whiskey. It'll just go to waste." she grabbed the bottle by the neck, still clutching her glass in her free hand & headed for the stairs to put on something more comfortable.

Brent watched her, a clear look of unimpressed covering the features on his face, his folded arms tightened a little further as he shook his head.
"It doesn't just go off over night." He snapped, his anger flaring a little. "Tell me, why are you acting out this time? You spoilt little brat."

She tensed & turned to give him a little glare before holding out the bottle to him for him to put it back, even in height with him due to her standing on the stairs. "You make it sound like I'm some idiot teenager getting drunk & throwing a fit." she shook her head, stepping down one stair & looking at him straight on.
"If you put half of the effort you do into forcing yourself to hate me so much, into trying to be a civil human being, this could really work out." she said coldly. "At least I try to make this work. 'Till death to us part, or did you forget? If you want to spend the rest of your life making yourself as miserable as possible with me, then be my guest." she snapped.

Giving her the most unimpressed look ever, the taller male locked his gaze on her, his eyes flaring with the deep glare that set deep in them. "That's because you are an idiot teenager throwing a fit." He answered simply as his hands dropped to his sides.
"You want to know something?" He started, taking a step towards her, getting close so she could probably feel his heavy breaths against her skin. "If I hated you you'd be drinking that wine through a straw and you wouldn't be stood up, you'd be on 24 hour care in St Mungos." He snarled slightly under his breath. "If I hated you I'd of maimed you properly by now and yes, I'd probably pay for it with my life but that'd be better than being stuck in a marriage with someone I hated."

She didn't even blink as she stared up at him, her eyes cold & fearless. The fight with the boggart had done her some good.
"Then why do you insist on making yourself so miserable?" she asked through gritted teeth, forcing herself to keep his stare instead of pushing him away from herself & going out to the forest to let off some steam.

He didn't move, he simply stood his ground, his head straight, his jaw set, his eyes burning into hers.
"Who said I was miserable?" He started, growling under his breath. "You just assume I'm miserable because you are."

She took a deep breath, then said on her exhale, "If I was even half as hideous, useless, undesirable, stupid, or self-entitled as you seem to say that I am, I would be miserable marrying myself." she pointed out.

Shaking his head softly, the taller male broke eye contact after a moment. Folding his arms, he exhaled and looked up at her again. "That's because it's becoming apparent that it doesn't take much to make you miserable. I on the other hand tend to take it in my stride."
