Soleus was waiting (not-so) patiently outside a shop for Tiffany. He was leaning against the damp stone wall, with his heavy black cloak on, looking a bit creepy in the half-light of the morning. He looked tired and he hadn't shaved in too long. He flicked away the butt of his last cigarette and licked his lip, then reached up and gruffly scratched his chin, making a mental note to remember to actually look after his appearance.
Tiffany had asked him to take a trip to the Ministry to transfer his assets to be under Tiffany's care. He wasn't best pleased about this situation, as even though he was the younger sibling it felt wrong to him that technically he would be under her care. He hated being the younger one of the two, if anything he'd rather be the one looking after Tiffany. Soleus was beginning to become uncomfortable in the situation that was unfolding in his life. He had no hold on his sister's unfortunate arrangement, which he was starting to feel she wasn't actually hating as much as he first thought. He thought about their very odd, very physical relationship and grimaced, and tried not to think about it again. He hated being engaged to Ashley Godfrey, in a way, because like fuck he was going to end up married to a Godfrey. Like fuck he was going to end up married to anyone. And all this legal shit, with the money and the assets and the signing, he just wanted to be in control of his own things, on his own, simple.
He shook his head to clear it, and plucked out a new cigarette, holding it gently danging between his lips as he fumbled for his wand.

"Help me carry this." Tiffany broke the silence as soon as she had stepped out the door from the shop, the rusted bell above the doorway dinging softly. She lugged a large, heavy-looking briefcase beside her that occasionally jerked in her grasp, though the latches and the large straps of leather bound around the case held it firmly in place. She set it down for a moment & planted one foot on it to hold it in place as she pushed her hair messily back from her face & caught her breath. Secretly, she was incredibly pleased that he'd come back so quickly. On top of the fact that she could breathe easier when there were more Lestranges in the house, it would be nice not to deal with Ashley awkwardly trying to ask, yet not ask, at the same time, about Soleus' whereabouts, when he'd be back, etc.
The case under her foot rattled impatiently again & she sighed, turning her gaze down to it, instead. Predaytor wound himself around the back of Tiffany's neck & poked his head out from beneath her hair to eye the case warily. At sight of the snake, a handful of passers-by who had stopped to take a better look at the case immediately sped up their walking pace, others crossed the small alley to be on the opposite side of the winding cobblestone road from the pair. She didn't say it aloud, but it gave Tiff a huge sense of vindication - she wished she could put Illsadryl on a chain & take her walking in a crowd just to see the fear in people's eyes.

Soleus eyed the case warily, quite obviously wondering what was inside. He quickly spoke aloud about his thoughts. "What the fuck is in there?" He said gruffly, speaking the words around his cigarette as he struggled to get his wand out of his inside pocket. He soon after grasped it. "Incendio." He muttered quietly to himself, the word muffled by the awkwardly perched cigarette.
He put the wand away, in a more easily-accessible pocket, and watched the snake moving. "Could you be any more stereotypical?" He cocked an eyebrow at the snake, and bent over to grasp the briefcase.

"None of your business." she snapped, her tone not one to be argued with. She lowered her boot from the case quickly when it rattled so hard that it knocked itself onto it's side & stayed still on the ground for a moment. When the rest of the patrons of Knockturn had moved themselves far enough away from the pair, she spoke in a hushed tone, "Okay." she leaned in a little, despite the smoke. "It's a boggart." she nearly whispered, her tone so incredibly hushed.
Predaytor continued to eye the case on the ground nervously, though he kept his hood in & stayed mostly still, the only sign that he was alive and not a plush toy on her shoulder being his tongue flicking about nervously. "Stereotypical of what, exactly?" she asked, her generally lifeless tone sounding almost properly offended.

Soleus smirked a small smirk, and eyed the snake, "Fuckin' Slytherin, with your actual pet snake.", he mumbled out behind his cigarette, then he lifted the case with ease. He silently wondered why she struggled so much with it, and decided not to question her strength right now.
He turned to her and finally removed the cigarette from between his lips, tapping it lazily behind him. "A boggart? Don't you have enough nightmares going on as it is? What do you want a boggart for?"

She snorted & shook her head, "I'd be offended except.. yeah, I guess." she smirked a little & fished around in her pocket, pulling out a little tin & cracking it open to hand a small, lifeless mouse to Predaytor. Taking the treat so enthusiastically that he nearly took off one of her fingers, the snake swallowed it whole & vanished back beneath the curtain of her hair as they began to walk.
"Thank you so much for bringing it up." she deadpanned sarcastically, boots clicking on the street as she began to head further down the alley. "I'm not sure that overexposure would hurt, though, now that you mention it. Wouldn't something become less scary, the more you see it? Anyway, Brent thinks it might be a tougher training partner than the forest animals." she had taken to referring to him by first name, now, lately. She hadn't really even noticed herself.

Soleus strode along beside her, and smirked again in response to her own. Soleus enjoyed it when he saw some kind of emotion cross his sister's face, it reminded him of before. "I guess it depends what your boggart is, really." His own heavy work boots made more of a thud with each step. He eyed her and spoke in a sarcastic tone, "Well, if Brent says so, then it must be right." He cocked an unimpressed eyebrow, and turned to look at the alley ahead again. "Although in perhaps the first situation ever I sort of agree with him. Could be a good idea." He paused and took a long drag. "Could be a terrible one, though," He added, with a nod, beginning to wonder what Tiffany's boggart could be and if experiencing whatever it was, would just make her even more shell-like.

"I've never seen mine." she admitted, as if reading his thoughts. She immediately skimmed over his comment about Brent & then turned to glance at him curiously. "I'll be irritated if it's something passive. How does one fight a concept, exactly?" she asked. She'd attempted to have a conversation with Brent about boggarts but the whole concept was too abstract for her to wrap her mind around & he grew frustrated with her, giving up altogether.
"And if literally everyone has to have a boggart, what happens if my worst fear is falling down a flight of stairs & breaking my neck? Does it turn into an image of it, or does the entire area turn into a hallucination of the aftermath of it?" she was talking faster & faster, now, trying to get all of her ideas & questions out before they left her mind.

Soleus watched her, his face changing from mildly amused to increasingly bored. He took a final drag and flicked away his cigarette, and held up his now free hand as if to silence her. "For one... that is actually the shittest boggart ever. If that's your boggart, you're out of the family. Two.." He said, slowing down outside a very old, very empty looking shop. "Why don't you just find out, rather than wondering about it?" He motioned to the shop. "Bet there's an empty room in there you can use." He raised an eyebrow in anticipation.

"Uhm. No." she gave him a pointed look, quirking an eyebrow at him. "And don't mock me, okay, breaking one's neck from falling down stairs has been happening increasingly in our household over the last few months." she pointed out legitimately. The pack of death eaters that had been holed up in Lestrange manor were beginning to act like a bunch of wild animals that had been forced into the same cage.
"So, tough guy, what's yours?" she quirked an eyebrow at him, crossing her arms as she stopped walking altogether.

He sighed, and rolled his eyes, internally agreeing with her but too stubborn to admit it. "Just stay away from them all, stay up in your side of the manor or up in mine. If anyone else goes in my rooms, I'll fucking kill them." He said too seriously. "I'll even take off the wards from my bedroom for you, if you're desperate." He added, smirking a little, knowing Soleus' bedroom was probably the last place she'd want to go.
"What...? I'm not telling you-" He stopped, knowing she would win eventually, "Um.. I don't actually know."

She crinkled her nose & shook her head at him - though she did appreciate the gesture. No one was allowed in his room. "That's okay. Nigerian hyena.. walking-weapon fiance?" she smirked, gasping sharply when Predaytor nipped angrily at her ear & poked his head out, offended that she'd left him off of her list of defenses. "Right." she added, sighing & gesturing.
She quirked an eyebrow threateningly when he outright refused, then a look almost resembling a little bit of amusement passed over her features. "Huh. So maybe you should go in there & try it out." she pointed at the shop, clearly not that serious, though she couldn't help but be curious about it. Brent refused to tell her, & Soleus had no idea. She really had nothing to draw on or compare to.

He smirked at the snake, finding his reaction rather amusing, then moistened his bottom lip thoughtfully. "Yeah, I was meaning if you wanted to get away from that." He said quietly. Soleus followed her finger, looking over his shoulder nonchalantly at the shop's exterior. He paused, and shrugged, looking thoughtful. "Fine. I'm game if you are." He nodded as if to emphasize his point. *had to add this once I found it*

She gave him a defeated sort of look & sighed softly, her pride a little too inflated to refuse that sort of a challenge. Instead, she tried to turn it back around, wanting him to back out first.
"You want to find out what the boggart you've never seen before will take form as? Here?" she gestured around them vaguely, meaning Knockturn alley in general. "I hope you're excelling in Charms & Defense." she gave him a dubious sort of look - she had no inkling of doubt about him when it came to aggressive or passive magic, but she wasn't entire sure he'd excel at defense that didn't involve maiming his opponent. She would admit that she doubted herself in it as well - things like 'Riddikulus' and 'Expeliarmus' weren't exactly her strong points, nor were they the first defenses she would reach for. She wasn't one to knock a wand from someone's hand - she'd simply slice off the hand itself.

Soleus shrugged again, and rubbed his chin with his hand, his other arm still folded across his chest. "Where else do you suggest? Feels pretty much the same as home to me," He gestured around, too, noticing the cobwebs in the corners of windows and mysterious stains on the cobbles. "Or we can go in the forest at the Manor? Or sneak it back into school to the Room of Requirement?"
He was also dubious to find out about how good he would be at this kind of defensive magic anymore, but he had trained thoroughly all of his life and although mostly he excelled at aggressive magic, the kind he was taught most often, he did try hard to remember the fleeting bits of defensive magic he had been taught, both at training and at school. Durmstrang was quite combat-heavy and many lessons had been centered around physical training in groups, and Soleus knew what he was doing against other wizards. Surely I can face a boggart, he decided triumphantly. "Or is it that you don't want to face it with me around?" He quirked his own eyebrow, his voice hard.
