Broderick half-smirked and shrugged playfully "Do you often listen to Thorfinn?" he teased almost affectionately then shrugged his shoulders rolling his head from side to side he groaned softly with a crack of his neck then slid the finished cup of water to Tiffany plopping a bag of tea in his own cup.

"I do when he's right. Which isn't often." she countered, taking the mug from him & holding it between both hands. The weather outside was agreeable enough, but she was in a constant state of cold. The heat on the inside of her palms was more than welcome.
"Besides, she's not likely to want to stay here, getting her home should be a breeze. The birds hurt her ears & I think your.. dog wants to fight her." she looked down at Edgar, who still appeared to be stressing out near the back door. Taking a sip from the mug of hot water, she gave a small, content sigh, a rare noise for her, as the heat warmed her from the core. It was like a hot bath for her insides.

Broderick chuckled to himself then glanced over at his dog who ha his front paws on the back door and although not barking had his eyes narrowed and tongue hanging out while he panted "oh he doesn't want to fight, he wants to play" he eyed Tiffany in amusement "poor thing is too nice for his own good he would be up for some play time with your...what is it again a jackle?" he teased almost affectionately.

"Hyena." she corrected, not even noticing that he was joking, though the misconception still shot a little twinge of annoyance through her. "Jackals are from more Southern Africa, she's Nigerian." she watched the beast out the window. "She'd eat him, unfortunately." she added, in response to Edgar wanting to 'play' with her. "That's why she's here. She has a bit of a problem, with that."
She watched as Thorfinn approached too close to her on his way toward the house, Illsadryl letting go of gnawing at the chain to leap at him instead, snarling loudly enough it could be heard inside. The chain held her fast, though, & she leaned against it at a 45 degree angle to get to the taller man, who simply sidestepped, unphased, and headed into the house.
"That chain isn't going to hold, you'll have to keep reinforcing it or just buckle down & get a diamond-infused one." he insisted, quirking an eyebrow. "I don't see why you don't just get the di-" he started, but Tiffany cut him off.
"Diamond will break her teeth off." she said, slowly, angrily, as if speaking to a child. "Her entire appeal is that her jaws can bite through titanium, do you really think she'll be much use without them?" she quirked an eyebrow back at him, until he wavered & rolled his eyes, heading into the sitting room, mumbling angrily to himself.

Broderick laughed at how defensive she got "I am aware what she is Tiffany I was kidding" he chuckled and shook his head then watched the senario with the hyena and his friend then turned his attention back to Thorfinn "yeah Thorfinn I mean what is she supposed to do get the poor thing dentures?" Broderick snickered at his own remark as he sipped on his tea.

"Could just put the thing down, or ship it back to Africa." he called as he headed out of the sitting room & up the stairs to his own room.
Tiff rolled her eyes, perfectly aware of Thorfinn's views on her having the thing. It wasn't the animal that he was against, it was it's owner. Owners, now she thought for a moment, watching as the hyena managed to paw off it's muzzle, tilting it's head back & cackling sadly, lonely out in the yard all by itself.
"D'you have any red meat?" she asked Broderick, turning & awaiting an answer as she took a large gulp from her own mug.

Broderick smirked at Thorfinn as he walked up the stairs to his room then turned back to Tiffany with a nod "yes here" he stepped away from her and walked over to his pantry and swung it open pulling out a piece of raw red meat he handed it to Tiffany shivering because it was placed in a section of the pantry under a constant cooling charm.

She held it tightly in her hand, still warm from the drink, & felt it already beginning to thaw a little. Perfect.
"Will you come out with me?" she asked him, more to be polite than anything, setting her mug aside with her free hand & turning to head toward the door, only pausing to look back over her shoulder at him expectantly.

Broderick cocked a curious eyebrow then smiled and nodded "sure I mean we haven't been formally introduced anyway" he chuckled with another nod following the brunette to his backyard.

"It might make her less.. skittish." she offered, hopefully,
Illsadryl immediately sat pretty as she saw Tiffany approaching, tail thumping against the ground loudly & front legs shifting as she fought desperately against herself just to stay still. She looked at the muzzle hanging awkwardly from her own neck then up at Tiffany guiltily, whining softly.
"Hush." the brunette said sternly, causing the creature to immediately fall silent, laying flat & lowering her head down to her paws. She looked at it for a long moment, then held the meat up to Broderick. "Hold this." she insisted, letting go of it before he could protest, & heading over to Illsa to adjust her chain, making sure it was still tight. Illsa stayed still to let Tiffany work, but her eyes were hungrily fixed on Broderick, who was holding her next meal, teeth baring excitedly.

Broderick did as asked and watched the hyena as it's eyes locked on the red meat in his hand for a moment then turned to Tiffany looking curious "where did you even get her?" he asked nodding at the animal in front of him.

"She's Nigerian. She was a wedding gift." she said, her voice straining a little as she struggled with the chain before fixing it properly. She held her hands still as the hyena began feverishly licking them clean, desperate at the taste of the hint of meat on her hands. "Easy." she snapped angrily as the beast got too excited & nipped at one of her fingers. Whining & tilting her ears back, Illsa pulled away for a moment guiltily, then stood up properly & started to pull at the chain.
The growl that erupted from her mouth was so ferocious that even Tiffany stepped back in surprise, but Illsa was looking at Broderick, not her master.

Broderick wrinkled his nose at the mention of it being a wedding present then widened his eyes and stepped back at the growl that came from the animal "lovely wedding gift" he commented sarcastically offering the meat back to Tiffany.

"Engagement, actually, I guess." she corrected herself, not even noticing the sarcasm as he commented on the creature, taking the slab back from Broderick & stepping closer to the animal, who began tugging at her leash & snarling, cackling at the top of her lungs hungrily. "She's in perfect condition. I couldn't have asked for anything else." she said honestly. She'd been shocked at how quickly the thing had grown on her. Not necessarily in a loving manner the way one would enjoy the company of a puppy, but she was still impressed with herself for being so complacent with it. Never once had she threatened it or found herself moving to strike it out of anger, the way she was often tempted to with most animals. This thing in front of her may have had very limited intelligence compared to it's human masters, but she nearly respected it. At least as a weapon, if nothing else.
"Stop that." she hissed at the animal, & it immediately fell silent, sitting back on it's haunches, too excited to sit down prettily. After a moment of keeping it in torturous behavioral mode, she sighed & tossed the slab to it. Illsadryl caught it midair with a small leap & tore into it, snarling & nearly foaming at the mouth as her strong jaws immediately made it into much smaller pieces.

Broderick watched the animal with narrowed eyes then half-smiled and shrug "to each their own I suppose" he smiled genuinely with a nod "it's nice that you like her" he avoided the subject of her being engaged to Brent not a fan of the man he met a few times through work.
