How to play the stereotypical rich kid
To be honest, I’m very exciting about writing this guide.
First of all, we shall start be analyzing the stereotype of a typical rich kid. What is the stereotype? That they’re snobby, stuck-up and they shove their wealth in everybody’s face. Of course, it’s only a stereotype, and so it doesn’t hold true for all rich kids, but it’s a stereotype for a reason, right?
What causes them to act this way? Being rich makes people think as if they can have everything in the world. It’s a matter of social status - being rich usually means that you’re from a high class family. Rich kids love the money that they have and they love spending it and showing their wealth to others.
Resentment towards people who haven’t hit the jackpot is mainly because rich kids don’t know how to live the hard life (that is, working day and night to be able to pay taxes or rent or to eat) and so they are curious of how they live. Resentment is fueled because they’re so repulsed by the idea of being poor that they can’t imagine themselves in somebody else’s shoes and so tend to stay away from those with lesser financial status.
However, if you’re playing a rich kid, you must keep in mind that their life is not going to be perfect. Rich kids sometimes take things for granted and get in legal trouble, or maybe they’ll have parent issues or some sort of problem that doesn’t make their life “perfect” and so many rich kids get furious when you assume that their life is all sunshine and rainbows.
Your stereotypical rich kid will be arrogant to a fault. Most people will be extremely annoyed by them, and expect them to associate pleasantly only with those of the same financial status only.
Best of luck.
