Tiffany clutched the little infant to her chest worriedly, looking up at the clock on the wall. Thierry wouldn't be home for several more hours. The thought of being alone with this little thing much longer was more terrifying to her than any of the horrors that she'd faced in her life. The little girl in her arms squirmed fussily & whimpered, opening her eyes & looking up at Tiffany hopelessly. You're my mom. Something's wrong. Fix it. Tiffany stared helplessly back at the baby, at a complete loss. After a moment of non-action, the little girl started crying.
"Whoa, no." Tiffany's eyes widened. "Stop."
As if somehow Tiffany had retained some of her mystical ability to boss others around, the small girl fell silent for a moment, looking up at her mother expectantly again. The baby girl, Cassiopeia, was just over a year old, barely old enough to function without constant contact and care. If she'd known how difficult these things were, she'd have timed the pregnancy better so she could have left it alone with Thierry for the daytime hours to work instead of the other way around. Noticing that the baby hadn't cried for a whole few moments, now, she looked down & realized that she had fallen back asleep - which was no more comforting when she realized that the poor thing seemed horribly uncomfortable. Something was wrong. She just couldn't figure out what.
"Okay.. okay.." she frowned nervously & looked around. She wasn't going to risk apparating with such a small creature. No, fireplace was the best bet. Reaching around the child carefully, she picked up the thick fur shrug hanging off of the nearest armchair & wrapped it around the squirming, sleeping infant tightly, then clutched her protectively to her chest as she tossed the floo powder into the flames & stepped into the fireplace. "Bode Estate." she demanded. There was a feeling of warmth enveloping her, a flash, then nothingness.
The warmth was replaced with the cool air of a large room. Tiffany coughed softly, holding Cass closer, & stepped out into the room. Her voice shook as she called out weakly, "Broderick?" she shook some hair out of her face, glancing around nervously.
