Georgina was standing in the frustratingly long lineup at Scribbulus Writing Instruments, practically out the doorway & onto the street at that point. Clutched in her arms were at least 40 or so fresh quills of various colors & sizes, some of them so long that she occasionally had to turn her head to sneeze at having them itching her nose so constantly, unable to do much else with her awkward, armful grip on them.
She groaned inwardly as a man came to a standstill in the lineup behind her, presumably to get inside the shop to pay as well, judging by the ink & other supplies he'd grabbed from the cart outside the door. In one of his hands was a steaming, heavenly-scented cup of fresh coffee. She would have been able to smell it from a block away, if she could get around the scent of the dusty quills & paper surrounding her.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't hate you, right now." she said to him before turning around, nodding at the cup of coffee she'd known was in his hand. She glanced up at his face & narrowed her eyes curiously for a moment. Attractive, yes. Familiar, definitely. From where?

Broderick was on a quick quill run his for the office breaking and him being in town for his break already decided to take the time to pick one up, clutching a cup of coffee in one hand an the items he needed in the other he cocked an eyebrow at the blonde girl as she spoke to him his lip twitching in amusement before flashing her a charming grin "I beg your pardon?" he asked.

"Coffee." she explained, using both full arms to awkwardly gesture to the cup he held, a hint of a smirk gracing her features for a split second before it turned to panic as she nearly dropped what she was holding & had to quickly readjust herself.
"Ugh, this line could not be moving any slower & now you're standing here with coffee after I've been pulling a 10 hour shift. I hate you." she repeated again, much more playfully, this time.

Broderick's eyebrows remained raised as she spoke, leaning in he mumbled softly the bitter scent of coffee traveling hauntingly from his breath into her personal space "you know, if you are trying to get me to buy you a coffee you are going about it all wrong" he winked cheekily.

"Oh, sweetheart." she gave him a playfully condescending look, then pointed out, "Do I look like I can hold a coffee, right now?" she asked, jostling her supplies to drive her point home.

"although this line up is particularly long I didn't see you needing to stand here for the rest of your life but hey if you want to spend your days holding writing supplies who am I to Judge, I just- " he gave her a condescending look right back then changed it to a playfully mocking expression. "what would all of your devoted readers do without your excellent advice"

"Y'know, I'm not sure if you're trying to hit on me or mock me, but neither one is going to get you anywhere." she informed him, half serious & half playful. "Does this act usually work for you? Offer them beverages while insulting them? Land you lots of women?" she was smiling, now, as she spoke, clearly not genuinely offended or off-put by him. In fact, if she was, she'd have walked away, by now.

Broderick threw his head back and laughed shaking his head "neither I can assure you" shook his head and flashed her an obnoxiously charming smile "really I was just teasing you I apologize if you are actually offended"

Georgina eyed him for a moment then dumped her quills gently into the large cauldron on the cart she'd picked them up from.
"Well, I'm still holding you to it, whether it was a real come-on or not. You owe me a coffee, now." she gave him a little smirk, nodding at the vendor just outside of the Prophet print-building, where she worked.

Broderick look considering for a moment then nodded with the charming grin still on his face " I'd love to" he replied kindly then also placed his items into a cauldron of their own.

She certainly wasn't an openly trusting-of-men sort of girl, but a free coffee directly outside of her office in broad daylight seemed perfectly safe & casual enough. After a moment, she gave in & sighed, looking up at him.
"You're Broderick Bode." she said, as if it were obvious. "I knew I knew you from somewhere."

Broderick seemed surprised that she knew him and was curious if they met before and he simply didn't remember "I know you write for the prophet and have read your article once or twice but I am unsure of how you know who I am, have we been introduced before? I apologize if we have" he pressed a palm to his heart as he set down his quills, parchment and the like. "truly"

"Answer in the question." she chuckled, "I work at the Prophet." she pointed out, tilting her head. "You're a bit of a hero, around here, aren't you?" she was amused, but not cruel, not in the least.

Broderick raised his eyebrows looking surprised "I wouldn't say I am a hero, not at all" he commented modestly with a shrug "just doing my job, playing my part in trying to keep things a float you know?" he stated innocently keeping his comment as always with the press diplomatic.

She narrowed her eyes a little, but her expression wasn't unhappy. "We're not on the record, Mr. Bode. You don't have to feed me the press-release, trust me, I've read it already." she looked up at him playfully, tilting her head to the side. "Just between you and me, hm?"
