Late Dinner → Soleus Lestrange

[Tiffany Lestrange]

She'd been gone all through the dinner that had been served at Lestrange manor, that evening, & had only returned to the house once almost everyone was asleep. Sneaking in carefully to the kitchen, Tiff did her best to keep quiet, not wanting to wake anyone, or alert anyone already awake to her presence. 

Pulling one of the cupboards open, she brushed aside some cobwebs in the corner & pulled out a few different jars & cans of things, setting them aside as she looked for something to catch her eye. It was a rare occasion for her to be hungry, & she'd missed out on it the last time, so she didn't want to make that mistake this time again.

She turned around sharply at the sound of someone entering & raised her wand in threat, worried it would be another death eater, then sighed & lowered it when she realized it was only Soleus. She wordlessly ignored him & turned back to hunting through the cupboard.

Soleus eyed her, an eyebrow raised in question.
"Are you actually eating?" He asked, if a little sarcastically, and then, as if he suddenly felt the need to ask more questions to break the ghostly silence in the manor, added "Where have you been? Why weren't you at dinner?"

Her head whipped back around to give him a wicked sort of 'i have a secret' look, eyes flashing wildly before she grabbed a large jar full of raspberries & set it on the counter, going back to replacing the rest of the things she'd pulled out in order to find them. There was a flush to her cheeks & her stockings were run up the sides, the back of her dress speckled with bits of dried leaves. There was a sort of giddy air to her movements, her whole body moving quickly but languidly as she went through the motions of cleaning up her mess. She'd been out having sex.

"Went out. Forest. With Brent." she jerked her head back toward the garden door in the direction of the nearest small wooded area down from their home. "Training." she added, the corner of her mouth twitching as if trying to push a smile that the rest of her face wouldn't allow.

Soleus watched her, his face screwed up in confusion, until he suddenly pulled a look of disgust and contorted his face.



"That's fucking disgusting." He said plainly, and stole a raspberry while she cleaned up.

"Excuse you?" she stopped what she was doing to look at him, as if having no idea what he was on about. If anything, she was a skilled liar. At least with other non-Lestranges. She slapped his hand sharply when he took one of the raspberries but let him eat it anyway, finishing tidying up the jars & cans before taking one of the pieces of fruit herself & popping it in her mouth casually, as if eating was something she did regularly, these days.

He gave her a look, and took another of the raspberries, pulling himself up onto the counter to sit there.
"Cut the bullshit, Tiff," He said, swallowing. "but yeah, really grim." He popped his thumb into his mouth and pulled it out, sucking off the juice he'd managed to squish out on the way in.

"Stop talking." she told him shortly, taking another raspberry & relishing in the way she could taste it properly, bright & fresh & making colors appear behind her eyes every time she blinked. "You'll kill my appetite." Predaytor slid along the floor beneath them, before coiling up Tiffany's leg & raising his head once he reached mid-thigh, hood flaring at Soleus with a low, warning hiss. He was beginning to get rather large, striking quite an imposing figure. 

"Hush." Tiffany mumbled to the creature softly, causing it to retract it's hood & rest against it's own body coil, like some sort of shimmering, rippling thigh-garter.

Soleus blinked lazily, swallowing the last raspberry he dared steal loudly.
"Merlin, don't let me do that," He smirked sarcastically and swung his legs a bit on the counter, looking younger than he probably liked. "well as fucked up as you guys are at least you're eating." he remarked, but his voice was considerably softer.

"So did you defeat a boggart yet?" He asked, his voice a little louder, watching the snake in a bored fashion. What is her obsession with.. pets? Can these things be classed as pets? He thought to himself.

She left the snake in place, turning & walking over to the other side of the kitchen & sliding a drawer open curiously.

"Don't be childish, we're not a couple." she spat the word out like it was poison, but there was something forced to her tone. "And no, I haven't gotten my hands on another boggart." she glanced at the jar of raspberries again & then gave up her hunt for whatever she was looking for in the drawer, drawing closer to Soleus again to grab another small handful of the berries, craving them. "Been a big busy. Did you not see the two toddlers in the Devil's Snare outside?"

She was referring, in fact, to the kills she'd made earlier that day, a few children, possibly from a muggle family, that had been playing in the forest just down the road from their house.

"Well you are engaged." Soleus said a little too suddenly, and then considered for a moment, sighed, and added, "and you're living together. And Merlin knows what else."

Soleus pulled a face and nodded. "Yeah, it's the stuff of nightmares. What exactly was the point in that, anyway?" He grimaced, feeling only a little bad for the poor parents who were probably roaming the forest in vain. "Would only adorable children do?"

"Soleus." she said sharply, to silence him before he continued further into something incredibly private that she didn't exactly want him talking to her about.

"Adorable?" she looked at him & snorted, shaking her head. "It wasn't my idea, mother requested it & you know how she feels about 'no' as an answer." she didn't mention that she wouldn't have said no, anyway, never wanting to cross her mother & always wanting to be in her good books.

Soleus gave her a pointed look back as she snorted, trying to reaffirm his view that yes, the children were adorable, and if that meant he was still too mushy then be it. Soleus himself was just quietly glad that it wasn't him his mother had asked because he wouldn't have been all that comfortable with the situation.
Instead he just sighed and rubbed his already messed-up hair in a bored manner, deciding to change the subject from the current one, knowing it was making them both a little uncomfortable. Their mother was decidedly terrifying and neither of them really wanted to chat so casually about her.

"I got my boggart from Snape, like you said. He was a bit apprehensive but gave it me anyway. Think he thought it would be amusing to let me struggle or something." Soleus scratched his stubble thoughtfully, shaking his head a bit. "S'upstairs, in the drawing room in my quarters." He added, not really sure why he was telling her.

She gave him a disdainful little look but didn't comment further on the matter. Once, Esma had commented that Tiffany didn't have a single maternal bone in her body - the brunette had protested & pointed out that sometimes mother wolves ate their young.

"Are you inviting me to make that one explode, as well?" she asked him, her tone cold, though her frustration was clearly with herself, not him. She felt sick, now, immediately slamming the lid back onto the jar of raspberries so hard that she didn't even need to twist it to finish closing it.

Soleus eyed the jar irritably, and looked back to Tiffany, an eyebrow raised.
"Only if you want to?" His voice was a little icy, but his mouth wasn't set, a hint of a smile playing on his mouth. "What did Yaxley say, anyway? Did you tell him what you did?"

"You lost the privilege to converse with me about him, sorry." she looked at Soleus somewhat coldly, quirking an eyebrow at him to let him know that she was indeed very serious about it. It almost made her a little upset - she didn't have anyone left to talk to, about it, now, but she reminded herself that no one wanted to hear it, anyway.
