Charlotte had avoided being at Broderick's house - not that she didn't want to be around him, having some time to herself had made her realize that maybe she really liked the idea of being more than just his best friend - she just didn't want to run into Thorfinn. Not only that, but she was fairly sure that Broderick & Thorfinn probably weren't doing well, now, either. She didn't leave the dorm for the majority of the weekend, and avoided class on Monday morning to skip out on seeing Ashley. That she certainly wasn't ready for. Once she was sure that she was ready to talk, she headed to the ministry, hoping to run into Broderick & convince him to stop whatever he was doing to talk it out with her.
Standing awkwardly in the waiting area, once she'd checked in at the desk & they'd sent a memo to the Department of Mysteries, Charlotte paced back & forth, far too restless to sit down.

Broderick received a memo that Charlotte was waiting for him and hastily finished most of his work begging for Stamford to finish the remainder for him, his friend and fellow employee knowing how Broderick felt about Charlotte agreed after some mocking of course, he hastily made his was over to Charlotte and was humorously out of breath when he reached her although he tried to play it cool "Hey you" he said after a sharp inhale.

"Hey." She exhaled heavily as he approached, hands patting her thighs awkwardly before she shoved them into her pockets. She stared up at him for a moment before speaking again. "I, uh, know I left in a hurry the other day - I thought we could talk if you had a minute." She started to doubt herself, backtracking. "You're probably busy, I shouldn't have bothered you at work, sorry, I can go-" she gestured lamely.

Broderick gazed at Charlotte with wide adoring eyes, she didn't lose his attention for a second, pausing for a moment just watching her as she spoke and moved he almost let her turn and leave before his brain actually remembered what she said "NO!" he called out hastily stepping in front of her placing his hands up in front of himself but not daring to touch her in worries of what he might do, clearing his throat he rose to his full height and smiled nervously "I mean, it's fine..of course we can talk....I'm finished for today...."

"Good." she exhaled the word, before intaking another breath & staring up at him uselessly for a moment. "Let's, uhm, talk." she awkwardly looked around, wondering where to go, when Lyssa immediately piped up from her spot at the desk.
"Visitor Floo port 1675 is open, now, Mr. Bode." she pointed down the hallway of fireplaces a little, clearly indicating the one that was lit up brightly, welcoming them. She gave Broderick a small, reassuring sort of look before sinking back into her desk behind a pile of paperwork.
Charlotte grabbed his hand softly & tugged him toward the fireplace.

Broderick instantly looked to Lyssa then smiled at her gratefully letting himself be pulled along, he considered that going home might be a bad idea if Thorfinn was around but he had been quite consistent in not being around in the afternoon so he took the risk calling out his address when the reached the fireplace he slipped his arms instinctively around Charlotte as the flames rose around them and then flooed from the office.

She closed her eyes when he wrapped his arms around her, feeling immediately safe. It was her instinct, with him - safety. As they landed, she immediately started speaking to him, unable to stay quiet much longer.
"B," she turned around and looked up at him helplessly, biting on her lower lip & wringing her hands together. "I'm sorry if I - I didn't mean to screw it up. Whatever 'it' was. Between us." she began to stumble over her words, losing track of what she was saying altogether and just trying to get it all out before she lost her nerve. "I'm sorry that I left, I panicked, and I know that I said I didn't want to talk about feelings, and I know things with Thorfinn are probably really screwed up with you right now but I just - I really -" she took a deep breath, starting to pace a little now. "I don't care what he thinks, or what Ashley thinks, or what anyone thinks. I just really like you, and I - I spend like, most of my time thinking about kissing you." she finally got it all out, stopping her pacing to stare up at him.

Broderick stood on the spot and just stared at Charlotte again, his eyes wide and adoring as she spoke the smile slowly growing on his lips the more she went on finally after standing in silence when she finished speaking he stepped in closer to her and placed his hands softly one her arms "You didn't do anything wrong, I have been keeping my distance because I thought it was what you wanted, Thorfinn is an ass, he's my best mate but he also knew I was helplessly in love with you much before he ever dated you...he just figured I would never get the courage to tell you how I felt so when he wanted you he went for it, deep down he knows that what happened wasn't to hurt him...it was because..Charlotte I have been in love with you for almost 3 years now kissing you is all I ever think about"

Her hopeful, useless look turned into a small smile, only being stifled when she went on her toes & pulled him closer, kissing him. It was nothing like before, not spontaneous like their first kiss, not rough or hungry, impatient like the many that followed. It was soft, careful, and slow, like she had all of the time in the world & this was the only thing she wanted to spend it on.
She couldn't help herself when she pulled away. "No offense, but this is so weird." she told him, though the smile on her face told him that she certainly wasn't complaining.

Broderick closed his eyes and kissed her back with a passion he withheld for years, when their lips parted he smiled at her and nodded with a smitten expression "So weird"

She giggled at his reaction & kissed him gently one more time, pulling back to look up at him excitedly. She felt a warm, tingling happiness well up inside of her, forcing her to giggle & nuzzle into him trying to relieve some of the pent up happiness. She'd missed being happy, and she'd missed having some sort of romance in her life. Broderick was the perfect combination of all of it. She felt like an idiot for not seeing it any sooner.

Broderick smiled down at the tiny blonde in adoration his fingers brushing through her blonde hair lovingly "you're adorable" he chimed out affectionately kissing her temple because he couldn't help himself. "does this mean you're my girl?" he asked hopefully.

That only made her giggle harder.
"Your girl?" she teased, "Will you give me your Beaux class ring & buy me a malt, sugarpop?" she mocked, 100% lightheartedly. Clearly she was comfortable with the idea, no matter how old fashioned the phrasing he chose was.

Broderick lifted his hand with his class ring and cocked an eyebrow with a dorky grin on his face "if that's what it takes I will" he grinned and shook his head, cheeks red as he gazed at her hopefully.

She grinned, shaking her head & pulled him in by the collars playfully.
"No. Keep the ring, but do know that I require at least one boy-looking sweater. It's what all the hot girls do." she reminded him playfully, nudging his nose with hers softly.
