She'd entirely forgotten that he was likely perfectly welcome with his parents & didnt need to rely on her house. That little piece of control she lost made her feel ready to crumble. She realized he had left & quickly headed in after, following him into the dining room & plastering on her sweet look again - back to the act. She kept her chin up & back straight, trying to look as natural as possible.

Brent grabbed the first seat he came across, sliding into it effortlessly, across from his sister, his mother next to her, room for Tiffany next to him, and his father taking the top of the table on the other side of Tiff, between her and his wife. The house elf moved around them all, making sure everything was in place, bottles of wine were placed in the center of the table and a jug of water too, if preferred.
"This looks super-" Loretta started, her hand moving to pull her hair behind her back so it didn't dangle over her plate. Her mother smiled, nodding, before her father reached forward once everyone was sat and started collecting the food onto his plate. Brent followed suit, roughly nudging Tiffany in the side with his elbow as he pulled his arms back, picking up his folk to take a bite of something.

She stayed entirely wordless in response to his actions, knowing better not only for her sake but for everyone else's, to remain quiet & not bother causing a scene. Her eyes travelled around the table innocently when everyone seemed occupied with their food, trying to picture Brent growing up here. It was hard to imagine him as anything other than what he presented himself as now. She'd have to see if she couldn't find an old photo of him somewhere in the house.
Reaching over Brent carefully, she placed one hand softly on the inside of his wrist - part of her was reveling in the fact that she could touch him without an immediate, firm-handed payback. She knew she'd get some sort of return on her investment later on, but being able to occasionally lay a hand on him in a 'casual' manner made her feel completely surreal - it was almost like, to anyone else, they were a real couple for a moment.

Looking sideways Brent gave her a darkened glare that questioned as to just why she was touching him at the dinner table whilst he was trying to eat. "Something wrong, dear?" He questioned through gritted teeth. Loretta glanced across the table at this point, she knew her brother better than anyone and she knew he wouldn't put up with Tiffs touching if he didn't feel like he had to - not that Loretta expected him to beat the shit out of Tiff though, she saw her brother through starry eyes - "c'mon Tiff, everyone else has food and you haven't even picked anything out." Zebby (cant remember his real name) - Brents father - spoke.

"I just -" she fell silent, blushing a little & then gave him an apologetic look, immediately sinking back to take a little food - just enough to be polite, though she found it difficult to eat much at all. Her own nervousness seemed to spark her back into obedient behavior, her hand falling away to rest on her lap as she took a tentative bite from her plate, eyes barely leaving the plate in front of her.

"You just what, Tiffany?" Questioned Brent a little cruelly as he reached forwards once Tiff was done putting food on her plate. "Now, now, c'mon dear, we can't have you getting weak, thats barely anything" With that, he got a spoon, adding more to her plate, clearly noting that she rarely ate around him and noticing how much thinner she was getting. "Wouldn't want anything to go to waste now, would we?" At this, his mother raised an eyebrow at the young couple before speaking softly. "Brent, she can eat as much, or as little as she wishes, we're not here to force feed anyone." With that, Brent seemed to sink into his chair a little, his knife stabbing harshly as a piece of pork on his plate.

Tiff gave Brent a short, secretive glare, before turning to his mother quickly, "No, it's alright." She glanced at Brent, then said slowly, "he's just watching out for me."
She quickly stabbed up a piece of food & popped it in her mouth - she could tell by the way her mouth watered & stomach relaxed noticeably that it was delicious, but she could hardly taste anything. The steam floating from the table looked fragrant & amazing, but it couldn't compete with the sensory-hallucination she was constantly stuck in - the smell of burning flesh that only she seemed to be able to smell.

Brent glanced in his mothers general direction, giving her a incredibly forced - but perfected - smile that he kept only for the sake of his family, showing off his dimples (awh! brenters) and his pearly whites. "Of course, just looking out for her." He added, nodding his head before going back to his own food. "C'mon Tiff, eat up, plenty left for seconds. Not to mention dessert, mother got raspberry cheesecake, just for you." Brent glanced her way, raising an eyebrow, showing that maybe he did take some notice when it came to her.

Her stomach lurched appreciatively under her skin & she glanced up at him for a moment, her expression unreadable - impressed? suspicious? possibly a bit of both?
"That's amazing." Was all she could think to say for a moment, pushing a little food around on her plate before forcing another bite. Her body appreciated the food greatly, she just found it hard to motivate herself to bother trying.
ooc. still haven't left ha ha, probably leaving in just a few min (:

Brent didn't raise his gaze to look at her, not acknowledging the fact she was sat beside him, rather he kept his gaze on his dinner, stabbing roughly at the food before placing it in his mouth. "You like cheesecake?" Questioned Loretta, attempting to create some sort of conversation at the table, "or raspberries?" Reaching forwards, the tiny blonde picked up more pork, placing it on her plate before flashing Tiff a friendly smile.
ooc. haha, have fun!

"Raspberries." she distinguished, suddenly grateful for the other girl trying to make an effort with her. She'd never had a reason for dislike with the other girl, she just felt horribly awkward around her - a girl she had to pass in the hallways even though she was in on Tiff's dirty little secret of her real life. It wasn't a dislike, just a general avoidance.
Her eyes flitted over to Brent once more out of curiosity, but he appeared to be busy with his own food. She wondered when & where he'd picked that up about her.

Loretta smiled, giving the brunette a nod. "I prefer strawberries if you ask me, or sugar, sugar is good-" She said, laughing a little giddy, grin covering her face like a five year old. Brent shuffled, his eyes rolling as he munched on some more pork. "Gon' have to have words with that bloody elf, it's a bit dry-" Glancing over at his mother he sighed a little before turning to catch Tiffs eye, giving her a somewhat annoyed look.

"What?" she mouthed at him, though she didn't say anything out loud before turning to stab up another piece of food. If it was dry, she couldn't tell. The last time she'd managed to force down anything with meat in it, it had been bacon of all things - which was pretty impossible to get 'dry'. She wondered what it would have been like to grow up with a brother like Brent & still turn out like Loretta had. Hell, Tiff had gotten pretty lucky with having Soleus as her brother, & look how she had ended up.
"It's fine." she said out loud in response to Brent's comment, glancing at his mother almost apologetically, though she tried to keep her face neutral. "I haven't had anything home-cooked in ages." she quickly finished her sentence with a sip of wine, feeling it already beginning to relax her a little.

Narrowing his eyes at her a little he chewed what was in his mouth before audibly swallowing, there was nothing wrong with the food, he was just complaining for the sake of complaining.
Glancing sideways, Brent gave her another somewhat annoyed look, his neck stretching a little, eyebrows raised in a 'who asked you' sort of manner. "Well thank you Tiffany, kind of you, really, we pride ourselves on family meals" replied his mother as his father leaned forwards, picking up the wine bottle and polishing it off by pouring it into his glass.
Brent continued to eat, chit chat here and there, silences becoming progressively awkward, some talk of 'work' which Loretta seemed to ignore having been somewhat shaded from it until recently when her father attempted to get her to join the cause - which she refused, saying she needed to concentrate on her school work and being a family man, he agreed to let her off - for now anyway.
Dessert was served not too long later, the house elf switching plates with a click of its fingers, wine was flowing, conversation was seemingly alright, Brent seemed to just be getting more annoyed and stubborn throughout the dinner. "Raspberries-" Brent commented as he pulled forward some dessert onto his plate. "Do you just like them because they're almost as bitter as you?" He questioned, glancing at Tiff with a raised eyebrow as his mother shuffled awkwardly in her seat, his father giving him a somewhat warning look. "Now Brent- that's no way to talk to a lady." He started, enough to warn his son to back off somewhat causing Brent to sink back into his seat and angrily poke at his own dessert.

She smirked a little at his comment - out of all of the things he usually said to her, that particular jab seemed a little stretched, like he had just decided he'd gone too long without saying something impolite to her.
"Absolutely." she informed him, not even bothering to regard his father's comment to him. With a sly little grin, she winked at him & popped a raspberry in her mouth from her plate, turning back to pluck her fork up. She wasn't necessarily going to fight with him - not in front of his family, but she wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of getting under her skin. At least not with very easy to deflect comments like that one had been.
She glanced up at his mother again & gave her a surprisingly sweet look - definitely helped out by the wine she'd had over the course of dinner. She wasn't 'buzzed', or even close, but she felt it easier to act content & relaxed, now. "This is amazing, you didn't have to go out of your way for me." she insisted, taking a tiny bite of her cake. Heavenly. The little smile on her face was genuine, now, though it didn't last as she took another small bite.
