As the sun filled the sky it became a perfect opportunity for students to sit on the grass, swim in the black lake and study under the shade of trees. Mace had taken the opportunity to go down to the quiddich pitch for a while in order to have a spin on his broomstick and just work out a little. Not that he needed to, he was in great shape as it was and his extra curricula activities certainly kept him fit.
Walking across the grass, shirtless, and in a pair of black shorts with a red stripe down the side (forever supporting his house), his school jumper hung loosely around his waist. Mace whistled at a group of sixth year claws as he walked past them, chuckling to himself once he'd passed them properly. Post workout and he still smelt like he'd just walked out of an aftershave factory (mmmm).
Looking across the grass, he paused before smirking to himself and heading up towards a shaded area from a large oak tree, close to the water and still warm but enough room to relax, or do work, without the heat of the sun attacking directly. Noticing a familiar blonde under it he ran his hand through his hair and sat himself down on the grass across from her, a meter or so away. "Aight' Ashley?" He asked before laying back, his head turning to look at her as he stretched out. "What're you up to?" Shuffling, he moved just a little so he was sat more in the sun than he was the shade.
ooc. ohmahghad, I actually started.

Ashley was seated under a shady tree on a rare particularly nice day when she noticed someone sit beside her, looking up from the book she was reading she smiled sweetly "hello Mace I'm fine and yourself?" she asked kindly as she paced a bookmark on the page she was at then closed the book giving Mace her complete attention politely.

Stretching his arms out infront of him he positioned his hand to block some of the sunlight out of his face before turning his head to give her a smile. "Me? Yeah, I'm great. Never better." He answered, head turning to look up at the sky again. "What're you reading? Not disturbing you, am I?"

Ashley smiled and shook her head "no of course not just reading a book on charms" she continued to smile warmly and glanced over at a group of giggling 6th year girls "not keeping you from anyone am I?" she asked softly with the polite smile still on her face.

"Anything interesting?" He asked, head turning to look at her again as he rolled, shifting so he was laid on his stomach rather than his back. "Keeping me? Na, I wouldn't be here if you were." He replied, simply as a soft raise of his shoulders took over his upper body into a shrug. "Can't deal with the giggling ones, they get annoying after a couple of seconds." He chuckled, moving his gaze to glace over his shoulders at the girls.

The tall male chuckled as he turned his head back to look at Ashley. " Ah, you're alright, at least you're not a giggling mess simply because I'm glancing in your direction." Exhaling he stretched his arm out towards the sun, using his fingers to block the light from his eyes before dropping his hand back down by his side. " Infamous?" He questioned, sounding somewhat playful. " Now, now Ashly, that's just offensive." His definition of infamous was being known for a bad quality and he didn't quite think of himself as being 'bad', that and his claim to fame wasn't only his stunning looks and great bod, he just lived through the fame of his father (even if they didn't exactly see eye to eye). "Anyway -" he added, giving her a playful nudge to show he was kidding. "Nothing much, got a restricted section assignment for breaking rules, but other than that, not much. Just catching some rays whilst they're about." He shrugged his shoulders, letting the muscle move awkwardly against the grass before he flattened himself back out. "Anything new with you lately?"

Ashley grinned and widened her eyes innocently "I was only teasing Mace you know I think you are great" she smiled genuinely her cheeks turning a soft pink, although she had no romantic feelings towards the boy she could not help being intimidated by him any girl in their right mind would be "oh not much" her being engaged sprang to mind but she was nervous to mention that to other people especially considering it was obvious Soleus was less pleased than she was.

"I'm kidding." He answered simply, a grin falling onto his features as his head turned to look at her properly again. Taking in a deep breath of fresh air, he let it fill his lungs and held it there for a moment before exhaling softly. "Ah, c'mon, there must be something interesting going on?"

Ashley smiled up at him and cocked her head to the side "well you know me" she shrugged her eyes locking on his "I mean I practically live in the library" she nudged him softly "You are the one who actually has a social life" she grinned sweetly. "how are things going with you?"

"And it's usually the innocent ones that have the most skeletons tucked in the closet." He retorted playfully, his hand reaching out to playfully swat at her leg. "Me? Dandy as always, been working out in the quiddich arena." It was a good day for it, sun blasting, probably a bit warm for anyone to be training, so he'd had peace and quiet to work out and keep in touch with his quiddich skills.

Ashley scoffed and shook her head "I don't have any skeletons and maybe I am not so innocent" she grinned at him sweetly and poked his side "don't judge a book by it's cover and all that" she stuck out her tongue cheekily.

Raising his eyebrow he nodded his head simply. "Right, yes." He started playfully. "This is all a front and it's like the whole 'when the glasses come off the ugly chick is suddenly a hot piece of ass', those storybooks are full of bullshit." The grin on his face showed he was kidding, and in no way had he just called her 'ugly'. "Are you attempting to tell me that by day you're the library assistant and by night you're the short skirt hooker?"

Ashley dropped her jaw playfully "I beg your pardon?" she gasped with a smile and shook her head the blush apparent on her cheeks "you are just all sorts of inappropriate Mr.Marsden my goodness" she tsked him playfully "honestly"

Giving her a wink, he chuckled light heartedly under his breath. "You know I'm joking." He defended himself before shifting on the grass, pushing himself into a sitting position. The bare skin of his chest going a little red from being in the sun for so long. "Inappropriate? I think you have the wrong man!"
