Tiffany sat in the Great Hall, poring over her various text books that were spread out around her at the table - a sort of sign for others not to sit near her. Not that many would, really, on their own accord, she certainly wasn't that sort of popular anymore, but the few stragglers & younger students who wanted to take advantage of the free-seating in the hall were now warned otherwise. The four massive tables had been pushed together to create one, gargantuan square table instead, the center of which was reserved for the large smoke-made image that was projecting from the glass bowl beneath it. No staff were currently in the hall with the students & the viewing portal that the smoke created to the staff room gave the faculty a chance to check up on the students whenever they chose, to make sure they truly were studying.
Finishing with what she had to read up on in Potions, Tiffany looked around the hall, then decided that none of the other students were a threat to come & sit near her, sliding the book away toward the middle of the table & subsequently making room for another person next to her, as she reached for her next subject.
Care of Magical Creatures was possibly her worst class, as she was certainly not an 'animal person' in any sense of the word. Sighing as she grabbed one of the library books in front of her, she flicked it open & began to scan the page in front of her. She didn't even look up as the bench she sat on shook a little & someone climbed in next to her, rolling her eyes in frustration to herself before inhaling the smooth, familiar scent of their aftershave. Marsden. She looked up at the boy next to her & gave him what she hoped was coming off as a bored look. He seemed to have gotten along well enough with Kevin Edwards, the boy in Gryffindor that she'd killed the previous summer, & every time she looked at him now, it made her stomach twist a little.
"Alright, Mace?" she asked, trying desperately to come off casual.

Mace walked into the great hall, the gum in his mouth popping against his tongue as he did, giving him minty fresh breath. He scratched at the back of his neck before stretching his arms out in front of him. One hand was occupied with a thick brown book, the other hung loosely, his fingers free to run through his hair, ruffling it a little. Scanning the hall he popped his gum against his tongue once more before spotting Tiff.
Smirk covering his face he wandered over, his Gryffindor tie hung loosely around his neck, his robes no where in sight, but rather, he'd opted for a v neck jumper, supporting the familiar Gryffindor emblem and showing his crisp white shirt underneath it, the top few buttons open. His sleeves were rolled up to around his elbow, showing off how toned the bottom half of his arms were, not to mention his bicep muscles that caused his jumper to tighten in just the right place.
Upon reaching where Tiff was sat, the seventh year slid onto the bench, perching next to her, his signature smell following him around. Of course he had a signature smell, he was Mace Marsden, he had his reputation to uphold. Popping his gum once more he grinned slightly at her, his head tilting as he pulled forward one of her books, his own now placed beside him on the bench. "Dandy." He spoke, finally, his head turning to look at her, "you?" He questioned and glanced over her book he'd pulled forward.
It was kind of weird, how well Mace seemed to get along with people, he couldn't really care less which house you were in as long as you were female and willing to hop on him whenever he wanted, well that and his spectacular wit and charm that he had going for him. He was easy going and his looks certainly helped him when it came to making friends in the other houses. Of course there were the odd few (ie: Slytherins) that had their house pride stuck up their ass, but most of them seemed pretty chill with him, not to mention his wonderful tendency to get people to hop into bed with him.
Loosening his tie, the male exhaled softly and picked his own book up before dropping it in front of him. Something from the restricted section that was covered in dust, like it hadn't been touched in centuries. "Defence Against' Dark Arts" He said as he opened the book, flicking through it, stopping somewhere in the middle.

She couldn't help but give him an almost fond look. He was one of the few Gryffindors that she got along with - even with the weird mixed feelings that she now had about his presence. He seemed to lack the obnoxious hero complex that so many members of his house carried, which is normally what she avoided them for.
"Have an extra piece?" she nodded to him curiously, quirking an eyebrow. Anything to get the coppery taste of blood out of her mouth, that she always seemed to wake up with. She pushed her own book aside gently, looking up at him in a way that ensured him that her focus was now entirely on him.
Mentally, Kevin bounded over & sunk himself into the seat between Mace & Tiffany, effectively cock-blocking & being obnoxiously adorable all at once. If he was high enough on sugar, he'd sling an arm over both of their shoulders & make a comment about being 'best buds', then laugh as if it didn't hurt when Tiff elbowed him roughly in the side to let go of her.
Shaking the image from her mind, she focused on Mace with a small smirk.

"Extra piece?" He questioned, before looking at the book and chuckling to himself. "Oh, work? Yeah, caught out of the dorms after hours, detention piece. Bit dark if you ask me, but whatever." He answered, a shrug rolling effortlessly off of his shoulders as he looked at her, his finger moving to wipe down the book, taking a thick layer of dust off of it and brushing it off of the table onto the floor, letting the specks fall effortlessly to the ground.
Glancing back at her, Mace smirked before nudging her softly in the side, a playful grin covering his face as he cocked a brow at her. "What're you working on? Anything you need help with?" It was natural Mace, offering assistance, in his defence, for all the whore he was he was still a decent guy, and he was somewhat smart, though he acted like he didn't really care about his book smarts he was always happy to get a good grade back.

"Gum." she corrected, already feeling the smile fighting it's way to the surface as he explained himself. She'd missed hanging out around him. It was simple and comfortable & easy.
"No, not really. Care of Magical Creatures." she gave a little sigh of defeat as she looked up at the book she'd pushed away from herself. It was definitely not something she prided herself in being excellent at. "Unless you happen to be some sort of world-class Niffler-whisper-er." she smirked.

"Ah- that I can help with" The boy smirked as he half stood up, hand searching in his pant pocket for his packet of gum. Thumbing over it he pulled an half empty packet out and held it out to her.
"Care of Magical Creatures?" He questioned, raising an eyebrow. "If memory serves me right you're pretty good at looking after beasts-" smirking at her he flashed her a playful grin, clearly his comment was more about himself than the actual subject. "As far as I'm aware, they're just little bastards when it comes to destroying things in hopes of finding something shiny. Gold, preferably. They're affectionate towards owners and-" he paused for a moment, thinking back to what Hagrid had once said in his previous year about the animal. "And I'm pretty sure they breed like rabbits, they have somewhere up to 8 in a single litter."

She smirked at him playfully as she popped a piece of gum into her mouth, "Thanks, you're about as useful as my text book." she glanced at the page again & sighed.
"I'm going to need to breed one, probably, for extra credit at this rate." she admitted, surprisingly shyly. She didn't like the idea of falling behind in a class, no matter how stupid she thought the class was.

Cocking a brow at her playfully he shook his head. "Ah, now thats harsh. Your textbook isn't half a good looking as I am." He retorted playfully. "Why read a book when you can just listen to me?" Grinning at her again, Mace was clearly joking.
"Breed one?" He questioned as he wrapped the gum around his tongue. "Yeah, good luck with that one. It'll destroy everything you own and you'll end up with a hundred of them if it decides to start breeding itself."

"Of course. I should get you to just read them out to me." she pictured that plus a palm frond & a bunch of grapes, but didn't mention that bit to him.
She smirked & shook her head, "Quality control." she insisted, tapping her wand softly against the edge of the table.

"We could pin different points to different muscles of my body. I'm sure you'd learn faster that way." He smirked, nudging her playfully.
"Oh so you know nothing about the animal but you're gonna quality control it, are you?" He asked, playfully as he glanced back at his own book, flicking towards the contents page.

"And what, remove them as I learn them?" she smirked, tilting her head to the side & shaking it in playful disappointment.
"I don't know the animal, but I know I'm scary." she playfully bared her teeth like some sort of terrifying beast, then winked & flicked the page, though she wasn't truly paying much attention to it, not soaking up a single word that she scanned over.

"Mhmm, sounds like the perfect study session, no? All we need to add is a bit of whipped cream and it'll be like old times. You love my body." He teased, nudging her softly again.
"Oh yeah, you're terrifying-" He grinned and shifted, turning so he had one leg either side of the bench, his hands resting against the wood in front of him. "Absolutely-" he moved a hand to her waist "terrifying." Moving swiftly, the taller male leaned in, his other hand getting the other side of her waist as he started to tickle her.

"Ew, don't be so bold." she demanded playfully, rolling her eyes before yelping, not even paying attention as he had turned to her & certainly not expecting physical contact. Her first reaction was to wince away, as if worried he was about to hurt her. A little noise, halfway between a snicker & a noise of protest escaped her lips as she twisted in surprise. She felt the familiar feeling of shivers shooting up her entire body, could feel the dull drum of his fingers dancing over her sides, & even the heat the started to climb up her cheeks in reaction, but surprised herself by not busting into giggles. Had she really turned that miserable? She gave him a playful grin instead & grabbed gently at his fingers, prying them from her torso & shaking her head with a little amused roll of her eyes. "Stop that, you're such a child." she insisted.

"Ew?" He gasped in an over the top manner. "Pleaaaaaase-" He started, his head tilting as he put on a mock feminine voice. "Ohhh Mace- there, right there- oooooh, there! There!" he whimpered under his breath before snapping out of it and snickering playfully. "Can't deny it, Tiff." He said, biting on her corner of his lip as he watched her.
"What!" He announced in protest as he dropped his hands to his side. "Since when did you get over that? You used to be the most ticklish person I knew!" Sounding mockingly disappointed, Mace shook his head and twisted his body back to his book. "If I'm a child what does that make you?" He teased, cocking his brow playfully.

She reached up & tried to slap a hand over his mouth, sliding along the bench & trying to continue to muffle him as a few other students began to glance in their direction.
Shaking her head, she smirked a little & shrugged. "Guess you've lost your touch. I'm glad I found out the easy way before I made some horrible mistake." she teased him, quirking one eyebrow.
